Summary: We will break down the Basics of ERISA (Employee Benefits) Law and it's requirements for businesses.

  

Speaker: Kathy Robinson, US DOL -Employee Benefits Security Administration

Ms. Kathy Robinson has worked for the Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration since 2007. Based on ERISA and related laws, she educates the public and fiduciaries regarding compliance assistance and educates the public and helps them resolve issues they experience regarding private employer sponsored plans. Prior to working for the Department of Labor, she was a Senior Mediator for the City of Kansas City, MO, the Director of Mediation at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the Executive Director of the Western Missouri Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, and was a Legal Aid attorney specializing in Family Law and Mediation and teaching Conflict Resolution.

Ms. Robinson has two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Psychology and one in Sociology, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She also matriculated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law with a Juris Doctorate and from Antioch University with a Master of Arts degree in Conflict Resolution. She has been an attorney since 1995 and a mediator since 1996.
