This presentation will take the audience through a brief history of workplace violence including active shooters and armed intruders. Other topics will include warning signs of aggressive workplace violence, what employees should do when confronted or within an affected area of violence, creating emergency action plans, and law enforcement’s response to workplace violence. Also covered within the presentation is creating policy and procedure for armed intruders.
Speaker: Josh Long, Police Officer/Field Trainer - Hutchinson Police Department
Josh has been within law enforcement since 2006 and has held or currently holds positions including SWAT assistant team leader, civilian active shooter instructor, law enforcement active shooter instructor, firearms instructor, use of force instructor, field training officer, and peer support coordinator. He is currently certified as both civilian and officer active shooter instructor through A.L.I.C.E. along with NRA Shield. He performs approximately 50 presentations a year to companies within Hutchinson and the surrounding areas, referencing active shooter/armed intruder with audiences ranging from the medical field to church groups.
