Bill joined Gallagher in August of 2016 with over five years of private practice experience in employee benefits and ERISA. Prior to coming to Gallagher, Bill worked for a boutique firm in Kansas City representing Taft-Hartley multiemployer retirement, health, and welfare plans and labor organizations. Bill’s practice involved health and welfare plan matters including plan design and administration, claims and appeals, document drafting, reporting and disclosure obligations, government filings, and counseling administrators with respect to ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
As Compliance Counsel, Bill assists regional offices with health plan compliance questions related to ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, COBRA, cafeteria plans, self-insured group plans, and wellness programs. Bill’s experience, strong analytical skills, and commitment to customer service allows him to advise plan sponsors and Gallagher employees on how to best meet the obligations facing employers in a complex, evolving regulatory environment.Bill is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Finance. He received his JD and LLM in Taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Bill is a licensed attorney in the states of Missouri and Kansas.
