Speaker: Kathy Brockway, Business Professor at the KSU Polytechnic Salina Campus

Summary: Maximizing Team Effectiveness: The Power of Personality

Personality has an impact on job performance, organizational fit, and job satisfaction.  Identifying one’s own personality and the personalities of others provides insights into various motivations, actions and communication approaches.  Teams that share a mutual understanding of others’ personalities have abilities to communicate, motivate and achieve common goals at the highest performance level.

This fun and interactive workshop will begin with a personality self-assessment, followed by an exploration of personality types ‘at work’, ‘in conversations’, ‘in relationships’, and ‘frustrations’.  Discussion will focus on how understanding personalities can be used to maximize working relationships.  Workshop participants will create strategies to work with and to supervise diverse personality types.

Anyone interested in fostering understanding of team members, enhancing professional and personal relationships, promoting responsibility and respect among team members, and having fun with self-discovery will want to attend this workshop.

Workshop Outcomes:

  1. Gain an awareness of personality types;
  2. Leverage personality of self and team members to improve team effectiveness;
  3. Utilize personalities to improve productivity, accountability, and bottom line performance.
