    By working collaboratively with other colleagues in the HR Department, this high-profile position serves as an internal consultant/HR partner to assigned client groups/departments.  Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

    • Managing and developing the talent acquisition strategies and processes for assigned areas (defining job requirements, developing recruitment strategies, implementing effective selection tools and developing job offers). 
    • Counseling and guiding management regarding a wide variety of employee/labor relations issues, City policy interpretation and application, and other similar work-related matters.
    • Assisting or conducting thorough and objective investigations of discrimination, sexual and other harassment claims, and other violations of employment laws or city policies.

    • Coaching supervisors and management teams to enhance their managerial and leadership effectiveness, improve relationships among teams/individuals, and better align policies and systems with Mission, Vision and Goals.

    • Overseeing performance management system, including the ongoing development of competency models and objective performance measures to drive and reward employee performance.

    • Analyzing employee engagement, employee turnover data, and other metrics to make sound recommendations to department directors and other members of the management team to build morale, improve workplace relationships, productivity, and retention.
    • Managing and coordinating the city’s absence and disability-related policies and programs including workers compensation, FMLA and ADA reasonable accommodation processes.

    The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, business administration or other closely related field with a minimum of three (3) years of human resources generalist experience supporting a medium to large complex organization.  PHR, SHRM-CP or IPMA-HR Certification a plus.

     Salary Range:  $48,629 - $72,938 DOQ
