    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    As a strategic partner, the HR Manager aligns health system objectives with employees and management in designated entities and departments. The HR Manager formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. This individual maintains an effective level of business literacy about the entity/department financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition.

    Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Accountable to support a work environment that fosters positive employee relations.
    • Responsible for employee relations, employee performance appraisal process, benefit administration, talent acquisition, compensation administration, compliance, record keeping/HRIS for assigned entities and departments of the health system. (300+ employees)
    • Maintain confidentiality in all human resource activities.
    • Conduct regular meetings with respective health system entity and department director and/or top executive.
    • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
    • Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Partner with compliance department as needed/required.
    • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
    • Be regularly present in/at departments and entities to field questions, assess morale and provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Coordination of new hires, promotions, transfers. Participates in general orientation and works closely with education to insure all appropriate training is provided.
    • Provide guidance and input on entity and/or department restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
    • Identify training needs for entity/department and individual executive coaching needs.
    • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Strong skills in using software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS, etc.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms with diverse populations and different levels of management.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Administration or related field plus five years of HR generalist experience OR;
    • Eight years of experience in HR as a generalist.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    ·         Experience in Health Care.

    ·         Workday experience.

    LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

    ·         PHR, SHRM-CP

    PREFERRED LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION:
