    In collaboration with other colleagues in the HR Department, this high-impact position serves as an internal consultant/HR partner to assigned client groups/departments.  Essential duties include the following:

    • Managing and developing recruitment and selection strategies, programs, and tools to ensure overall effectiveness and EEO compliance.
    • Coaching supervisors and management teams on methods, strategies, and programs to reinforce desired culture and improve employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
    • Overseeing the city’s performance management system, including the ongoing development of competency models and objective performance measures to drive and reward employee performance.
    • Guiding management on a wide variety of city policy and employee/labor relations issues.
    • Conducting thorough and objective investigations into complaints of misconduct, discrimination or other violations of employment law or city policies.
    • Managing the city’s absence management programs and policies including workers compensation, FMLA and ADA reasonable accommodation processes.

    Minimum requirements include:  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, business administration or other closely related field with three (3) years of human resources generalist experience.  PHR, SHRM-CP or IPMA-HR Certification a plus.  In addition to broad understanding of federal and state employment and benefit laws, the successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, be proficient with MS Office.   Experience with HRIS/ Payroll systems is a strong plus.

    Salary Range:  $48,629 - $72,938 DOQ
